Navision Database - SQL Option:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV can use a proprietary Database or Microsoft SQL Server.
The SQL Database offers extra features and benefits, being:

Regional Settings:
Dynamics NAV was designed to be a global business application. By design it has multiple language capabilities so users see information in the language their version of Windows is running in.
In addition sales taxes are designed with great flexibility so user defined settings can calculate sales tax correctly no matter what country Dynamics NAV is being used in. Sales tax and multi language facilities are combined to ensure for example that "VAT" in Europe is called "GST" in Australasia.
Business Notification :
Microsoft Business Notification provides easy-to-use functionality within Microsoft Business Solutions– Navision to generate automatic e-mail messages to your employees, suppliers, partners, and customers when certain conditions occur within the Navision Application.
You can use any of the standard Notification templates included with Microsoft Business Notification or you can set up your own alerts based on the way you like to run your business.
