Job Costing: This module is an integrated application area of Microsoft Dynamics NAV that is used for detailed planning and managing of the costing for any long-term job or project activity.
The Jobs application area enables detailed accounting and planning for all costs and billings for a project or job.

Job Card: You use the Job Card window to enter information about jobs, such as the job number, job name, and information about job posting. From the job card you can quickly launch other windows to review the status of each job. You can use Jobs for traditional costing or for service-oriented time tracking and billing.
Job Budget / Planning: Create budgets and estimates for jobs. Include inventory, resources and expense items in budgets and estimates. Compare actual usage and sales with estimated costs and sales prices. You can organise job budgets and estimates into phases, tasks and steps to create an unlimited number of subdivisions for each job. Review actual usage and sales against a detailed hierarchy of Job Tasks / Activities.
Resource Journals & Ledgers: Post usage transactions for each job into the job ledger. Record sales transactions through the Job Journal or Customer Invoicing. Record purchase transactions through the Job Journal or Vendor Invoicing (including Purchase Orders).
Resource Capacity Planning: Integrates Dynamics NAV Jobs with basic Resources and Resource Capacity for detailed capacity planning. Quickly review on screen resource allocations per job and overall resource availability.
Resources: The Resource application area includes a resource table, a resource ledger and a resource journal for recording transactions.These resouces can be consumed or sold but do not generate a related cost to the general ledger or reduction in future capacity.

Resource Card: The resource card allows you to set up employees, machinery or other company resources. Additional details such as resource skills can also be listed.
Prices & Costs: Dynamics NAV also lets you set up specific costs and sales prices for each resource to track usage and sales in the Resource ledgers.
Resource Journals & Ledgers: Resource usage can be posted on journals or on sales documents. The Resource Ledger Entries table gives full information including audit trail for all resource consumption.
Resource Capacity Planning: Capacities can be assigned to resources. Planned resource usage (in Jobs above or Service Orders) can be monitored and resource availability calculated and displayed on screen.
